3. Completing the car

There isn’t anything new for the rest of the car, now that I have the hardest part out of my way. I continue with the body, windshield/windows and interior, the hood and grill and finally the tires and rims.

I also keep the contents of the layers the same:

1. A rough approach on the base layer. Simple things like inset lines are colored there, too and I try to ignore the reflections I’ll later put down on the other layers, to give every shape on this layer a gradient (this will add more depth to the final vector):

Base Layer

2. The next layer is mainly a rough approach to the most complex parts of the car and also a first finishing point for the not too detailed parts:

Second Layer

3.The car is pretty much finished with the third layer:

Third Layer

4. The last layer contains the tiny details, which are actually barely noticeable. Truth to be told, if they were missing, the vector would still look realistic enough, but I’m a detail fetishist, so I include them nonetheless:

Fourth Layer

That’s about it. The car is finished and it only needs a drop shadow. I created this one in Flash, too, but the same in Photoshop might give even a better result, but technically, if you do it in Photoshop it’s not a vector anymore.
