Ultrashock Audio Essentials is an amazing and much needed collection of audio that shows Ultrashock's commitment and passion for quality. Thanks Guys!

Todd Purgason - creative director - www.juxtinteractive.com

The Ultrashock Audio Essentials collection is one of the best cost-effective solutions for any multimedia developer out there.  We have used some of the sound effects and music for everything from websites to identity trailers and have had good results every time.

With my main focus being graphics and design, audio has always been a weak spot for me, so to have a library of top-quality music and sound effects to choose from helps my process tremendously and minimizes the time it takes me to search for and add sounds to projects.

I would highly recommend USAE to every designer and developer out there.  For the cost of the product and what you get, it's a package that is almost an essential for any of us.

When designing the concept for Steven Giesler.com and bringing it to life using flash, it was clear that in order to match the site to the superb quality of Steven's work I was going to need superior quality sound. We already had a loop which was made specifically for the emotional experience of the site but one thing was still missing, the interface sounds. It didn't take long before I put my freshly purchased copy of Ultrashock Audio Essentials CD to work. We needed to find the perfect SFX that would go with the site. While browsing the CD we couldn't help but to notice the incredible variety, all from 8-bit to corporate to ambient, there are sounds in the CD for any project on any style for any need, and the most gratifying part is the top notch studio quality of the sounds. After going through the hundreds of sounds finally a perfect match was made.

I can say that the quality of the Ultrashock Audio Essentials sfx and music loops are far superior than anything I have seen before, finally creating a high quality resource for freelancers to be able to enjoy studio quality sound for a very affordable price, I can't wait to use it on all of my upcoming projects.

I just wanted to say "WOW!" for these incredible sounds.
This is exactly what we needed to improve the movement of our animations and the immersive way of our productions.

We are not specialized in loops or sound FX but we really need those for our clients or even for the Soleil Noir website (which is using FX from the Ultrashock CD).
Thanks to you Patrick and to all the people at Ultrashock working on the CD for this amazing release. Now that's what I call a "sound" CD.

And a special "bravo" for the design of the packaging and the quality of the box, it's just professional.

“Wow” was my first impression when I opened the inconspicuous package and held “Audio Essentials” in my hands. I did not expect less quality, but was definitely surprised about how
professional the production of the packaging is. Without any doubt the design is clearly the work of Peter van den Wyngaert.

The slipcase cover has a combination spot gloss/matt finish with the Ultrashock branding plus additional embossed printing. There are also two CDs and a booklet with a list of all the track titles. Over 20 different artists have contributed with their sound effects and loops. This guarantees the enormous variety of sounds, and was exactly the main difference and big advantage compared to other sound collections. Other productions are also of high quality for sure, but rarely with this much variation. Altogether the CDs contain 15 categories with over 150 loops (plus additional versions) and 750 sound effects in 10 genres – all in all roundabout playtime 1,2 hours. All files are stored as WAV files in uncompressed 16bit stereo and 44khz. The loops are usable without any reworking.

The booklet is very useful and contains additional info about the tracks regarding length, file size, names of all the artists, and additional information about the production. At this point I would have been happy to get some more info about the artists and which tracks they had contributed. My personal favorites are the “1980’s” category that took me to the time of the C64 or Amiga and the atmospheric sounds of “World” and “Film Score”, which are able to keep up with professional film production sound at any time.

Conclusion: This CD is made by designers for designers. Every professional will find what he is searching for with the large variety of sound. Even if you already have a huge sound archive, this product is a great addition. The price may seem somewhat high for $195.00 at first glance, but you won’t regret it after buying and listening to it. The countless hours of
work that went into this product and the additional costs for the sound equipment definitely make it worthwhile.
