Firstly, you would need to set your stage to the right dimensions for your region, if you're in the states, thats NTSC (720x540 sqaure pixels, 30fps).

Then export as an uncompessed video file. If your animation contains movieclips and actionscript, you will need special software to export these elements. If it is all on the main timeline, flash can do this itself.

You would then need to convert the exported video into the correct dvd format. Premier or final cut pro can do this and export the required files for dvd playback. You would then drop these files onto a dvd using dvd creation software.

Cheers, Jay.

What special software would be needed for that Jay? Is it megabucks stuff?

Also, I noticed you've put 'square pixels' - can you change the pixel aspect ratio in Flash the way you can in PS? I've always been phased out of doing what Ventix is attempting, because I thought I'd have to totally redo all the graphics in a 1:1 ratio in PS and then re-import them.

If you have premier or FCP, you can turn the square pixels back to the native ratio for whichever format you are using (ntsc, pal etc). I don't think Flash can change the pixel ratio, although there may be a setting in the video export options?

As for pricing, the software I mentioned is quite exspensive, but there are other options. There is a free program called virtual dub that may be able to do all the stuff we have mentioned..

Be careful, DVD resolution by spec is actually 720X480. Not 720X540.

If you create menus / animations at 720X540 it will distort the aspect ration.
