I'm really interested in the 16k logo. Do we get a metal case with it and a bodyguard? That'd be fun.

Not my cup of tea, and if this is really princeratt site, then it should be moved to shockworthy. Not to make fun about it tho. |

I can tell a lot of work went into the site, but this is the type of Flash that I absolutely can't stand. It's the reason why there's a growing force of anti-flash because some people see this and believe this is all Flash is for. This site says it's "fast loading", but when I have to wait 30 seconds through all the in and out pointless animations just to read, "Our STUDIO is equipped with highly experienced designers using latest technology and software to give our clients the best possible result." it makes me want to close the browser and never touch Flash again. Let's try to get this thread back on track... enough of the "That pricelist just made me bombshock my trousers" comments.

Everyone stop with the pricelist please.. it's clear that there's just an extra 0. It's like in the stock market a stock price can be $0,945 right? ![]() No, Seriously. I've never seen so many people jump on a bashing bandwagon. I guess in a way the whole page screams ostentatious and it's easy to have a giggle at what might be perceived as ridiculous, but give the guy some credit. Somebody had to do all that work, like newEzra said.. Aside from the debatedly "templatey" portfolio, Some the of the design and motion concepts aren't that bad.. The problem, princeratt, is that there may be too much of it all at once for the audience here, bombarded over the years by overly saturated amounts of flash, good and bad. So in essence, a lot of us are probably jaded, and seeing this we feel satiated and sickened by so much eye candy in one serving. I think you can call it the flash "bliss point", akin to having so many sweets at once. The taste is no longer pleasurable. But, I really feel that point will vary individually. I mean, If you showed this site to people who dont look at flash sites so often, who dont see all the SOTDs and the bombshocks, most of them might be more impressed... but even their eyes would go wide if they saw the pricelist. I must admit it's kind of unheard of, without a functional portfolio consisting of international names and brands to fully see. And the guys who do those never have a pricelist on their sites... I honestly hope you'll have the last laugh and find the client with an ego the size of a mammoth's phallus, looking to blow as much money as possible for the sake of saying they spent that much.. Then you can come back and show us all your work with a big grin On the plus side, lastly, one of the things I did like on the site was that you can minimize the consultation form.. that was kinda neat. |

I disagree with many of the views here. I think the site is very good and shows a lot of talent and various skills from different aspects. (Flash/animations/3d etc). Joe Public would probably think it is very cool. Yeah we post on Ultrashock so that we can get some feedback from our peers whom we expect to look up to, but so many people knock a guy down who has clearly spent a lot of time and got a lot of talent. Truth be told I would probably be depressed for a month if I'd spent so much time and then had to read some of the comments some of you have left. (Who else can you turn to?) I'd much rather hear comments like: drop the prices, refine some graphics etc. which can be rather constructive, inspiring and encouraging. No one said anything that positive. Seems some of you need to check yourselves if that is how you offer a fellow webdesigner your advice. This isn't Flashkit. Personally I think some of the graphics could be a little more refined (a little pixelated in some parts of the animations). I love the 3d figures and most of the site. I think there are 108 million websites out there now. I know for a fact - millions of people don't even know what Flash is and I've met many people with just an old html site who - after seeing a site like dultimate.com would ask - where do I sign? Thumbs up from me - just refine a few of the graphics with little impact on the decent loading times and maybe add some sound in the future. As for prices, work with the customer and get what you can. |

You have some good points Mime and a positive attitude which is appreciated by many of us here. I think we all recognize the effort put forth and know it takes a great deal of time to learn and its nice to have people to turn too who can help but it is also good to be challenged to become better.

i quite like it! (and no.. not just because its gotten a bag) like some1 else said, a bit of refinment in the graphics would make the layout shine, the homepage has a tone of potential, - perhaps make that ****tail glass really big - like so 1/2 of it jumps out of the little image area, and make it sparkly! navigation is good, lots of neat little animations, perhaps a little bit of sound. change the font at the bottom where the text says "for questions or assisstance, call us at...." - make the font size smaller i think. that login thing is quite cool! - i think the site will appeal very greatly to a certain type of audience - its very.. techno.. and interfacy. i think its great, seeing its in the bomb shock section, imho its not bombshock worthy! but a good site neverthless. perhaps just mov it to the right thread as self promo isnt meant in this one neway! good luck |

You guys, it isn't black or white. It's not: we hate it, but Joe Public will love it. There is something in between and that something is defined by the professionalism of the designer; especially with fast flashy and interfacy websites like this one it's much like a choreography. Having seen many quality websites, I just think this site is seriously suffering from bad choreography and image overload, and Joe will get sick of it real soon because even though the visceral factor is real high, the stabilizing, ergonomic and longlasting quality is missing. That in spite the fact that individual parts/animations and fx are high quality.

Even though the pricelist states that it is in US dollars....I HAVE TO BELIEVE that they some how miscalculated the exchange rate. I also noticed that Fast Loading is registered (due to their "special technology"). If the rest of the Flash community ever gets a hold of their "special technology"...they will lose their edge. |

If we're talking about AS2 then "Fast Loading" can't be anything more than file optimisation and only loading data when it is required, or loading and displaying some data while the rest of it buffers. You really can't do anything special when it comes to external data in AS2 (with the possible exception of bitmap data), I'm not even sure that you can implement the ZLIB algorithm in AS2. AS3 is totally different though, you can do some very nice things with binary data in AS3. |

cool.... ![]() we can see the portfolio is working now, but be careful , because on the first one I clicked, http://www.k9advance.com/ it was so immediately obvious that the K in the logo is ripped from the special K cereal, which is in itself a registered trademark. see www.specialk.com |
