Looks clear to me that your current hardware capabilities are borderline at best. Flexbuilder 3 is stated to require 1GB (with 2GB recommended), and Leopard itself is quite heavy in hardware requirements as well (512 recommended, but painfully slow on that in most cases). Doing the math that puts you well over 1.25GB, plus the 12" Powerbook is many years old with barely the minimum processor specs for Leopard. Unfortunately, upgrade is probably your only option. The MacBook should be more than robust enough, however, and not a bank killer if you are looking for a new machine; just get at least 2GB RAM. My best guess is that you are experiencing these intermittent issues with your current RAM limitations.

Thanks for the reply Matt! So it really can be that limitation? I thought about it, but on the other hand I don't see the connection between this and the feature in Flex. I'm doing quite some heavy coding on that machine, without any issue, but maybe the "live" connection kills it then ... Can you explain this any better (I am happy with the reply thought, first time I get any confirmation on this)?!

What I don't understand is, when I restart the machine, and only start Flex, it could already be overloaded?!?

One way to anecdotally find out is to kill the processes you know you won't be using at all with Activity Monitor. Also check and make sure Dashboard apps are shut down completely; lots of folks have these running in the background and think they are idle when they are fully utilizing RAM space...
