Rss in flash (without .php file) ?
Old 2008-09-03

Iv had a problem with an rss reader id put together for a flash site to show an rss feed.

It uses a .php file to get around flash's security sandbox (i think this is the correct term).

It worked fine on one website i used for testing but apparently the actual server it needs to be on doesnt function well with .php files

heres the address of the tutorial i downloaded the files from if your interested.

http://www.thegoldenmean.com/technique/rssReader01.html

I wondered if you had any experience working with RSS feeds in flash? and perhaps knew a way of doing it without a .php file?

Thanks in advance

Abe

Short answer is no. If you were using PHP to get around the security sandbox, and you can't use PHP now, then you won't be able to get around the security sandbox.

The sandbox is there for a reason.
