Button click issue
Old 2008-07-06 Last edited by juanlacuev : 2008-07-08 at 13:11.

I searched a little about this but I have no idea on exactly how to look for this.

I have a flash header for a shopping cart and a weird issue with.... guess who..... the little bastard IE! (not so little). The problem is that when you first enter the website, the rollover effect takes place but when you click it, nothing happens. If you click any other html link, then THE SAME banner is shown in another page and does work. the problem is with the first page and the banner its the same simple on(release) } getURL.... }

what could it be happening

the website is at [EDIT: REMOVED TO PREVENT TOO MUCH TRAFFIC] and I have no idea how to solve this.

Anyone? thanks...

I accidentally solved it.
I switched from swfobject 1.5 to 2.1 but didn;t solve it. I downgraded to 1.5 (because 2.1 was giving me the O"peration Aborted" alert bug in IE) but the switch from XHTML Strict to Transitional ISO-8859-1 remain and when tested in IE, the bug was gone. So, if you have a similar issue try switching from Strict to Transitional and UTF8 to ISO-8859-1

You could try something else other than SWFObject if it is causing problems. I have seen quite a few threads around Ultrashock mentioning problems caused by it.

Well, neither 1.5 or 2.1 seemed to be responsible for the first issue, Switching ftom XHTML Static to Transitional and UTF8 to ISO-8859-1 solved it. SWFobject 2.1 did had the issue that IE was giving the "operation aborted" alert, but I couldn't look into that because my client uses IE and I had to switch back to 1.5 ASAP before she went nuts.

Thanks everybody
