text animation generator
Old 2009-08-20

Hi Flashers,

I'm looking for a Flash based text-animation generator, or component or something that will allow me to generate simple text animations on the fly (fly-ins etc.) I was wondering what the best product is for this kinda stuff. It's a real pain in the a$$ to do by hand, especially if you gotta change the text at a later date)

Anyone know what the industry standard is for this kinda thing?

Thanks in advance guys

PS- I'm on a Mac

You can probably do a search on the forum and find a bunch of them. It also depends on how you want the text to be animated.

I'm looking for something like this:

but with more effects (this one only has 5) I'm willing to spend some bucks. Is there one out there that's sort of the industry standard or is it just a matter of hunting down a million of these little home-made components?

This is the first one that sprang to mind: FlashTextFX
It isn't cheap though.

It is pretty easy to write your own class to do what you want. In a nutshell if you have a string of characters, you split it into an array, put each character into its own mc then loop through and animate each one.
