Flash CMS
Old 2006-07-07

Greetings,

I'm wondering if any of you can direct me to where I can find a Content Management System for flash websites (opensource one). In addition forum threads will be welcome as well.

I'm aming for a flash website which can be altered by the client. I want the user to be able to insert text and manage a photo-gallery without the need of Flash knowledge and use of FTP.

Any suggestions?

This is not open source or "free", as in $149.00, but this is a pretty good Flash component.

wanting to build one yourself then you're best bet would be looking at XML, PHP, and MySQL together to make it with flash. Thats what I do.

Can you program well in ActionScript and PHP? Do you know how to create, manage, and interface with MySQL Databases from PHP? Do you know how to create and read XML file data in ActionScript and PHP?

If you answer "no" to any of those questions then you need to get your programming skills sorted out before attempting to build your own Flash CMS. You will be very lucky if you find a tutorial that shows you how to build one... there are a million and one different things involved in a project like that.

Flash CMS
I think you'd be excited with this Flash CMS which is flexible, interactive and don't need any special skills to modify flash websites.
You could also check the demo http://www.flashmoto.com/open-beta/ you should like it. I'm using it for few weeks and never have any problems.

Hi, actually free open source flash CMS sounds as a fantastics, probably it's difficult to find something of this sort(if possible at all).
But in a few days my company AuroraFlash makes an official release of FREE WYSIWYG Flash Editor. I believe it's just what you are looking for. The only difference between commercial cms's and our free product is that they provide on line cms, and we provide local application for your PC to make you less internet dependent. so you will be able to build/edit your flash site anytime. :-) Hope you like it
