Combine images into video server-side?

Hey guys, seriously stumped here so any help in the right direction would be most appreciated.

I'm trying to find a way to take a directory of images (say 30) and create a video slideshow that I can upload to YouTube, all in server-side. Any ideas where I could start? Something like www.animoto.com does.
