We did a little presale site for a large client:
www.stkatrineberg.se

And now we see this done for the same company:
www.brfprastgarden.se

What do you guys think? I just think it's extremely embarrassing on their part.. would be quite fun also if we didn't lose that money

it was done by the same company that employed you to do the first site? isn't that just trying to be consistent?

like the first site by the way. nice work.

I guess it went like this:

1. You go for a pitch by coming up with the creative idea & layouts (for free).
2. You loose due to A. a pricetag that is probably too high for the client, or B. the client has already some company/individual lined up who was out of inspiration.
3.The other company/individual takes basicly your idea and starts earning an income now.

The above is pure intellectual property theft in my eyes, I experienced this many times myself before.

The company I work for was indeed payed for doing the first site. Then the client approached us for another project. We gave them an offer but this time they went with another company that "could do the same thing" for $15k less.. and now they have that monster

The sad thing is that we have other projects running with that client so I hope the management can work something out so we don't feel so ripped off as producers.
