Copyrights Subject Lines - Please Read
Old 2004-12-14 Last edited by Jason : 2005-06-12 at 17:31.

We would like to start getting a consistant format for the titles in the copyrights area. Please try to conform to the following guideline.

suspectedsite.com

This should help in the future for searching the copyrights section, and make it easier to identify threads.

Please avoid thread titles like:
"Another Rip"
"Bad 2a Rip"

If you have any other suggestions for the copyrights section please post them here.

Thanks,
Xstream

I think the suspectedsite.com vs originalsite.com is a good idea, if a "rip" topic title doesn't conform to that then the topic should be trashed because it might help to weed out some of la-de-da rip related topics, a lot of which seem to be springing up recently.

Also, while I'm here, would it be possible to enforce another rule regarding rip related topics. The idea simply being that if a rip related topic starts turning into a... "RIP!!!" "dumbasses" "stooopid rippers" ...kind of thread then it should be locked or trashed. It's those kind of topics that are starting to give Ultrashock a bad name.

Just MHO as always.

Just recently, while I'm surfing the Copyright Forum section, I cannot actually find out where the site's copy /or ripped from, unless someone else's putting up the original links.

So I think it is quite a good idea, and fairly straight forward. More systematic.

Yes, and if you look in the copyrights forum, you'll see not very many people even saw this thread....and I've been too busy to edit every thread...

Nutrox, as far as closing or binning threads that are out of line. We try our best to catch them, but you know how quick a thread can go from good to bad. Its hard to keep track sometimes. So help us out, if a thread is getting out of line, shoot one of us a pm or email. Most of the time, if you see a thread that is out of line, and its not closed, it means a Mod in that forum hasn't seen it yet.

You can also use the "REPORT" button to send the mods in that forum and admins an e-mail. Usually whoever is first to it will take some action.

I don't think you should have said that... you're going to be getting a shed load of PMs and emails now.

Seriously though, if it will help to cut down on the totally useless threads that sometimes pop up, then the "report" button should be clicked more often.

Heh well I wouldn't mind honestly. Usually I get an MSN message from one of the other mods alerting me of a rogue thread anyway.

And yeah Nutrox, it would help a lot. There's only so much we can read in one sitting and sometimes we might miss something that you may find offensive too. If a member reports a thread, we'll definitely look at it.

Firstly, how about people who didn't happen to see this thread? they would use their own formats for the title again and come back to square one.

And also, i have seen lots of post that pretty well repeats one another, eg. "Bad ripper!" etc. that really serves no purpose at all, discriminating the ripper with short msgs like this serves no purposes at all, on top of that, it makes this forum looks like a chat room instead. I would suggest deleting those posts and leave those constructive comments alone?

hehe thanks w_e_e_d. I actually go through and do that once in a while. I used to do it more frequently but this week is particularly busy (and my luck would have it, there's been more activity in Copyright).

I'll weed (no pun intended ) through a few threads now.

Actually I've stressed before that you should try to keep it as constructive as possible in Copyright. If it's blatantly negative, it'll show up for a while and then disappear. This should not be a place to vent your hatred anwyay.

Again, try to use the report feature to alert one of us if you feel that it requires a report.

No problem andyMah. You're right, this shouldn't be a place for hatred venting. And also, this shouldn't be a place for discrimination too. We're all designers and we should have respect for one another, if one made a mistake, the least we can do is to talk sense into him/her, discrimination is redundant, unless we can prove we dun make mistakes at all?

It's easy to get disgusted, and easier to post hatred msgs, so i think we all should take some time to think through before we post anything.

discrimination? ok lets say someone enter to your house and take all your things and goodies, you wake up and find that someone take the stuff you work hard to have...

what do you do? and what do you say?

just let the people say what they feel... the rules here in US are very clear no need to do more rules or delete post because others make a comment, we are not teachers to teach the people how to behave we only see or act if someone is flaming or insulting a user we can not delete post becouse we see a or a little pirated is people expressing is own opinion

so discrimination hate or non respect are things that we don't tolerate but you need to tolerate others opinions

this comment reflects my own opinion not the Ultrashock Opinion, and i don't mean to start a fight is a comment

cheers

Peace,
Yeah what i said earlier on was just an opinion, different people have different ways of seeing things.

To me, this is a respectable forum, Ultrashock, although in a perfect forum, every post should be a constructive comment or opinion, but considering this forum to be a big scaled one, people come from all walks of life, we can't expect everyone to think the same, everyone has different maturity levels, different moods at a particular time, hence the different kinds of post of all sorts from different people. That is also the reason why many forums turns out to be like chat rooms, with comments such as "Haha!" , or " ", similar to chat room style of replies. I suggested deleting posts, but of course it's not up to me to decide, there must be many other unexplored options to tackle this problem.

Yes and i agree with you:
discrimination? ok lets say someone enter to your house and take all your things and goodies, you wake up and find that someone take the stuff you work hard to have...
If someone enters my house and takes away all the goodies which i worked hard to have, yes I will get pissed, i will ***** about it, but *****ing about it all day won't solve any problems, discriminating a person with a long list of repeated posts will only influence another person's thoughts. Less people will actually think deeper and comment about a topic after being influenced by the majority. To top it all off, the long list of repeated posts like "You ripper..!", "Shame on you! " etc, will only make the thread looks dirty.

That's really what i think. No hard feelings.
Cheers~
