bidding to rip FWA content!
Old 2008-04-26

Hey guys, check this out:

http://www.scriptlance.com/projects/1209133568.shtml

Simple project.

I need the websites listed in thefwa.com website.

Don't ask me where is the website listing there?

In the PM, let me know totally how many websites are there?

Sample list of first 50 websites must be submitted along with the bid.

Very simple and quick project. So bid accordingly.

No escrow payment

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Additional Info (Added 4/25/2008 at 11:58 EST)...
I dont need those 2412 listings on the main page.

Instead visit profiles on top of the page. Click on it.

Now you will get a list. Sort the list by clicking 'Awards' on the top menu.

Now you will get about 40+ pages. I need these websites only. There are about 1300 listings, I hope.

People were bidding $10 to do this illegal job and looks like someone actually did it.

I think I'm posting this here more for the entertainment value rather than because it makes me mad. It just blows my mind to see this type of thing happening all over the web and it makes you wonder what the future holds as people seem to have total disregard for the law!

Hi Rob... once you have a popular website/product, you're in for some unexpected surprizes now and then it seems like. Some people amaze me as to what great lengths they go to 'acquire' usefull information, wheter it be source code, a list of addresses, etc

We had to shut down our member listing a few years ago, after we discovered that a few individuals we're actually copying & contacting all our top members manually, for spamming purposes.

I indeed see this happening everywhere as well.

Hey Peter,

It's a real shame how we have to change the way we work and think. Crazy world we live in these days!

Mind you, I think I prefer cyber crime to street crime... not as painful.

I'm still in shock after reading that...

1. I can't believe that he would post that as a job

and

2. I can't believe that people would bid to do it.

Really is a crazy world.

Yes, it's a dread, create a site, get it copied. Facebook, friendster, multiply, etc. Google, Ask, Yahoo, etc. It's called something like capitalistic entrepeneurship. Wendys, Burger King, blah blah blah. I'm sorry, it may sound like bad ethics, but it's what separates us in this age of survival. I am not completely defending this guy for asking for this hack job, but it makes sense because TheFWA is a kick ass site. If you're going to steal anything you might as well start there. Also they didn't ask for a rip, they asked for content. So as we speak there's some guy with a link tool stealing code, probably using firefox. Anyways, this is why when you go to market you research every single product available in order to make it better. Unfortunately it's not original work but then again, very few things are in this day an age. But now it boils down to packaging and delivery in order to see if there's even a remote bite to the idea. Then some other jackass will steal that bastards idea.

Anyways, I'm gonna go copy something and paste it into photoshop.
