quicktime crashes vista
Old 2008-07-19

Hey, does anybody have the sampe problem? I got a laptop with vista ultimate and whenever I try to run a .mov my computer crashes. The funny thing is that .movs work fine when they play on the web, but if I make something or I try to open o .mov directly on my computer it totally crashes.

Does anybody know what's going on? I've looked in google and all I've found is that quicktime and vista are not compatible, but all are articles from at least a year old.

Cheers!

When you say "crashes" what do you mean? Blue Screen or freeze or something else? What information is Vista able to give you about the crash? Maybe a driver compatibility problem or conflict with another app or piece of software. I don't think you can you can blame it on either Vista or QuickTime but should be looking for something in the middle. Maybe even a graphics card or sound card driver/hardware problem.

Thanks for the reply ServerSide, I didn't see it until now.

I don't know what it was, but in the microsoft website it said that installing the service pack 1 fixed some problems vista could have with quicktime among other things, so I did and everything is back to normal now.
