WTF @ Flash 8 Progress Bar Component
Old 2006-02-02

I can't find any useful tutorial for how to make the progress bar component load the entire SWF (what's ahead of it on the timeline, that is).

Help?

It's designed to work with loading in movieclips into a parent clip. The new method for loading is the MovieClipLoader class which abandons the concept of a movieclip preloading itself.

The one I've been using all along for loading an entire flash site for example suddenly doesn't work with Flash 8 now. I get a syntax error. Is there an open source preloader somewhere I can examine that works with Flash 8?

Try reading the dates on threads, it will help you to avoid answering three year old questions.
