Agency work
Old 2008-04-02

Hello peeps

I was wondering if anyone knew of or knew which avenue I needed to start exploring for those agencies I need to get in touch with to do the following work:

You know when studios like Warner Bros. go to an agency in america, that then gets sub-contracted to an agency in London, that then gets sub contracted to a pr agency that then gets sub contracted to a website design agency, resulting in no profit, but a fairly nice simple website in a very short space of time. Well, i was wondering how i can jump onto this non-profit monster and get some movie related websites churned out for the portfolio

Any advice would be helpful

Phil.

lol slacker. :P j/k

Okay well, in all honesty, here's what I've seen and experienced in my *limited* experience within this industry we call media design. Hopefully someone else with a little more perspective can come and rickroll me, and then you can take their advice rather than mine.. but.

Don't take the easy road. Don't even think about taking the easy road. You most probably won't learn anything if you do. Case in point: I am regularly frustrated by people asking me stupid questions about software that they use everyday. Things that they should know. Things that they would know if they sat down in front of the computer and just failed and failed until, one day.. that glorious day that they did it themselves.

Anyway.. back on topic. A friend once told me that there's no easy way to get into any industry unless you pitch. Your site and the projects you've done are really good imo, and I mean that. So get in contact with an agency and ask what movies they have in the works. Show them your site/portfolio and tell them you'll do a concept site - or failing that, concept art for the site - for the movie.

Thanks Wolf for your reply.

We are however fairly established already and work with a couple of agencies in the UK, and also a lot of direct clients. We have no problem pitching etc. and are proud to have won some fairly hefty projects.

However, i'm looking for an agency, preferably with movie studios / music studios on the books who want the world handed to them on a plate in a short space of time... you know the type of agences.

If anyone knows who's door i should be knocking on i'd be much appreciative for the knowledge.

Thanks again.

Phil.

oic. I misunderstood. My apologies for the tl;dr post -.-
As for the companies you should be calling on, I know nothing. Sorry, and good luck. Hopefully someone here knows (or owns/works for) just such a place.
