BSOD stuff installing vista 64bit
Old 2008-02-09

Hey guys,

how's it going

Anyway, I'm currently having problems installing vista on my PC.

Here's my specs:
Q6600
GA DS4L
2 x 8800GT
4GB team elite RAM ( 2 x 2GB ) Dual channel
500gb SATA II
DVDR - SATA

I booted through Vista upon load, then entered language and time preference, etc.. then entered product key, copying files.. ok. extracting files...no prob..

All the way is okay EXCEPT the last stage of the installation. When the system reboots and loads vista, it goes "completing installation.." then after a couple of minutes (estimately around 15 mins ), my PC started going BSOD.

I retried installing it, still get the same prob.

I've googled a bit to get a fix on this problem. I found out that this might be because my DVDR and HDD are both SATA. Most people say that i should go enable RAID on BIOS so that Vista would tell that there is no Harddisk available, so i could load the driver before installation of vista..

sadly, i do not have a floppy drive thus i cannot use a bootable floppy disk.

Is there anyway to this problem? I keep getting that annoying BSOD thing.

Thanks in advanced,
James
