Hey.. that´s simply a wallcovering-piece with a tile-feeling that they have faded out to black..

Let´s say you take an image like this one

then you just do some photoshop like change the hue to whatever you want to fade out the edges.. and voila!

Thanks a ton!  I am curious if he actually builds them based off something like the above graphic.  The reason I say this is his seem like they are more pixel based, if that makes sense.

Or is it his method of “tweaking” the above image to get the desired result?

Scaling down the pattern and applying a sharpening effect can help create that sharp, pixel effect.

Or, there are really talented designers like Squidfingers who actually design ornate pixel patterns that scale seamlessly.
