Submission instructions - Flash Assets

Next to the Author Guidelines, we have specific submission instructions for uploading Flash files. These instructions detail all of the technical requirements needed in order to successfully upload your item, and get automated and nice looking previews for our validation team and future buyers.

It's important that our content validators have access to all of your original and editable source files, so preview files can be exported correctly again.

We provide an Asset Library if you want to avoid any copyright issues.

Asset overview

Item name

  • Choose a name that is distinct and appropriate.
  • For best results, use no more than 30 characters. The maximum accepted length is 60 characters.
  • Make sure that your item name does not violate the trademark or other rights of a third party.
  • Please avoid using superlative terms and brand names in the item name.
  • Do not include a description or list features in the item name. Use the description field instead.
  • Once submitted, your item name can't be changed anymore. So please choose wisely.

Description

  • This is the description that customers read to help them make their purchase decision and is therefore a key piece of marketing text.
  • Describe what the asset is all about, why people would need it, how easy it is to edit or customize.
  • We don't check spelling or grammar, so check your entry carefully.
  • Don’t include keywords; tag fields are provided below.
  • We have an optional system to organize FAQ and features lists, which can be filled out after this item got submitted.

  • Tags (keywords) are used to help customers search the marketplace effectively, so provide multiple tags that describe your item. Your item will be searchable by item name, description, username, and tags.
  • Please use only relevant and spell checked keywords.
  • Tags must be related to your item content and cannot contain offensive or trademarked terms.
  • You may not use other item names, user names, or company names as keywords.
  • Please limit the tags across all fields to max 20 in total, not 20 per tag category.
  • Tags can be single words or phrases, and the text field is limited to 100 characters.
  • Subject tag examples: slideshow, intro, text effect, easy, minimal, modern, ...
  • Feature tags describe the main features of your item. Examples are: resizable, deeplinking, xml, autoplay, ... 

Files to upload

All Flash submissions require 4 files to be uploaded!

  • Accepted file formats: *.zip, *.jpg, *.swf
  • You can select multiple files at once, or select files in different steps.
  • Please don't use blank spaces or strange characters in file names.
  • TIP:  dropdowns will preselect automaticly, if you name your files like this:
    source.zip - preview.zip - thumb.jpg - preview.jpg

1. Source ZIP for customer

  • Please include all item sources, previews, documentation and all needed files required for the end user.
  • This ZIP file is what the customer will download after purchase.
  • Name this file: "source.zip".

  • Please provide an already exported SWF and it's original FLA file, which we can use to re-export the SWF and use that for public preview.
  • Page embedded previews should be created at 640x260 movie size.
  • Name the main SWF file: "preview.swf".
  • Please also provide an "index.html" file  which embeds the preview.swf.
  • Previews cannot make use of external linked files, or any server-side code like: php, cgi, asp.
  • Previews may not link to external websites. Please link to an Ultrashock page instead.
  • Additional files can be included in the zip, but they have to stay at swf-root or subfolder level.

  • Please provide a correct sized 80x80px .jpg image at maximum quality.
  • Name this file: "thumb.jpg".
  • Use the "Save for web..." export function in Photoshop.
  • This thumbnail will represent your item throughout the entire marketplace.
  • Thumbnails will get rounded corners and a fancy shine effect automaticly.

  • Please provide a correct sized 640x260px *.jpg image at maximum quality.
  • Name this file: "preview.jpg".
  • Use the "Save for web..." export function in Photoshop.
  • This preview image will represent a large static preview of your item throughout the entire marketplace.
  • This preview will be shown on pages where a SWF preview is not possible.

Asset Details

Please select an appropriate category.

Select the related Opens with, Player Compatibly & Files included checkboxes.

Please select the required ActionScript version for your item.

Resolution info:

  • Please select the resolution of the end user source FLA file, not the preview file.
  • If it's a custom resolution; please select "fixed" and enter the resolution like this: "500x300px" (width x height)

Please select the required knowledge level to edit your item:

  • Basic
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced

Preview type:

  • Select if you want to display your preview in a new browser window.
  • Uncheck, if you want the preview to be embedded on the detailed item page.
  • If unchecked, make sure your preview is exactly 640x260px in movie dimensions.

FLA file size info:

  • Please provide the file size of the main FLA file.
  • Examples: "15 KB", "20 MB".

Published SWF size:

  • Please provide the file size of the main published SWF file.
  • Examples: "15 KB", "20 MB".

Version number:

  • Provide optionally a unique version number of the item.
  • Use typical software versioning conventions
    for example: "1.0" or "1.0.1" or "1.1".
  • Please do not include any words such as "build", "version" or "update".
  • Once submitted, the version number cannot be edited, unless you submit an updated version of your item (which will be replace the previous version).

Copyright:

  • The name of the person or entity that owns the exclusive rights to the item you are submitting.
  • For example: "2010 Company Inc" or "Company Inc".
  • Do not include a copyright symbol or (c). The symbol will appear correctly on the marketplace pages.

Price & Licensing

Default price:

  • The default price will be linked to the standard license, and will be used to calculate the optional licenses.
  • Your commission rate will be carried over to all the available licenses you select from the provided list. The calculated end-user price is printed at the right of each license, and you will see your calculated commission via a tooltip.

Free license:

  • When selected, your file will show 'FREE' as default advertised price. 
  • Optional selected licenses will be available as extras choices to the end user.

Available licenses:

  • Please select which licenses you want to offer to the potentional customer. 
  • We suggest to keep the preselected licenses, to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Hover over the INFO icon to read the license details

Uniform price:

  • When selected, all prices for the optional selected licenses will be set to your default price (instead of using our suggested calculated prices).

Review remarks

Please provide any additional comments, instructions and your copyright statement which our validator will review before they start inspecting your submitted item.
