Horizontal scroller trouble

I'm new to action scripting and new to this forum. I recently purchased a vertical scroller from Ultra Shock. I'm still learning action script and thought it would be easy enough to change a vertical scroller to a horizontal scroller by changing any of the "y" references to "x" references. And also changing the word "height" to "width". But it doesn't seem to be working. Does anyone have any suggestions or a link to a horizontal scroller that has the AS that I could look at? I'm in the middle of a job so any quick responses would be greatly appreciated.
