Flex to multiple swf communication

Hi,

I am working on this flex application and I use LocalConnection to communicate between flex and 2 other embedded swf movies. But I understand that only one Localconnection can be active at any given time. So when I disable one of the swf's the application works perfectly, but when both the movies are active nothing happens. How do I use Localconnection to communicate with 2 swf movies from flex? Any help would be immensely appreciated.
