I just purchased this and got it going. Very nice! I did notice that if I use the effect without mirroring and looping when the animation is complete the CPU usage goes to normal. When I add mirroring and the animation is complete CPU usage stays high as if it is still animating. Is there anything I can do to use mirroring and get the CPU usage down to normal while keeping the completed text on the screen? Thanks, Tommy

Also, I'd like to reproduce the effect in demo #5. Could I get the AS3 code/settings for that? Thanks, Tommy

Hi, it's basically a matter of trial&error;. What mostly accumulates on the CPU is using filters such as glow and bevel. Applied on multiple blocks per letter and multiple letters that will give a certain burdon. Besides that, the reflection class performs a bitmap-grab and clones the animation into a skew-transformed gradient-mask-filled reflection MovieClip. And it is performed in a frame-loop function. So the larger the animation-size, the more that also demands from the CPU. Unfortunately there is no magic-trick to make those specific routines work lightly, the flash player simply can only handle so much until you see visual playback suffering. The best you can do is - use short text, - not use reflection, - use moderate filtering, and then there won't be any problem. If you start using more of the above, then gradually the CPU will get heavier. Hope this helps

About the demo #5, (see also comments in readme documentation) in the library you find an extra movieclip with the functions used/applied on the addChild instance of the animation, those functions 1 to 5 will apply the settings from the demos. So basically you can copy the function(s) into the main timeline and apply it(them) after the addChild has been performed.

Thanks for the response. I also bought Laser 3D before I realized you did that too. Nice! Just to be sure we are talking about the same thing, I was refering to the CPU usage when the animation is complete (loop set to false) and the text is on the screen with no animation going on whatsover. Without the mirror parameter the CPU drops down to about 3% after the animation is done while with addmirror set to true the CPU usage never drops down and stays at about 50%.

Hi, I just bought it and tested... very nice code, I love it ;) But I have a question: I want to start a function when the animation is finished. Can I retrieve a value in the code? My Text fade in and fade out, and then the function should start...
